WHAT IS ALMA DUO?
Alma Duo™ is a clinic-based procedure employing focused low-intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy (LI-ESWT). LI-ESWT was initially developed in the 1970s for managing kidney stones and gallstones, but it has since advanced to address conditions associated with impaired blood circulation, specifically targeting issues related to erectile dysfunction (ED) and female sexual dysfunction.
HOW DOES ALMA DUO WORK?
An Alma Duo™ Shock Wave Therapy treatment is a simple, non-invasive procedure that is entirely pain-free. It usually takes about 15 minutes per session. A probe that is attached to the low-intensity shock wave therapy machine is placed on the penis in 3 locations and on both sides of the groin in men, and on the clitoris and on both sides of the groin in women. This machine sends pulse soundwaves which
sparks the body’s regenerative processes.
WHO IS MORE LIKELY TO DEVELOP ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION?
You are more likely to develop ED if you:
– are older
– have certain diseases or conditions
– take certain medicines
– have certain psychological or emotional issues
– have certain health-related factors or behaviours, such as being overweight or smoking
WHAT ARE THE COMPLICATIONS OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION?
Complications of ED may include:
– an unfulfilled sex life
– a loss of intimacy between you and a partner, resulting in a strained relationship

– being unable to get a partner pregnant
Depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem can also contribute to ED, creating a cycle of health problems.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT BEFORE AND AFTER THREAPY?
Better sensation and function usually occur immediately following Shock Wave Therapy. Over the course of the next eight to 12 weeks, a process called neovascularization happens, which creates a stronger, healthier network of blood vessels and increased blood flow to the penis and clitoris. The result is a stronger, harder erection, better arousal and sensation, more attainable orgasms, as well as an improved ability to perform sexually. Additionally, growth factor formation and stem cell growth

IS THERE ANY PAIN OR SIDE EFFECT?
Shockwave Therapy with the Alma Duo™ is pain-free. With the exception of strenuous exercise for 48 hours, patients can return to normal activity following treatment, including sex.
HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TO HAVE THE ALMA DUO™ SHOCKWAVE THERAPY?
A course of Alma Duo™ LI-ESWT consists of a total of 6 visits—twice a week for three weeks. Additional treatments may be indicated on a semiannual or annual basis depending on your age and results.
